Ranchi/Latehar, October 22,2024: In a recent incident, Latehar Police intercepted a passenger bus traveling from Ranchi to Garhwa and seized ₹15 lakh in cash. The discovery was made during a routine vehicle check on Tuesday morning at a checkpoint in the Chandwa police station area. The cash was hidden within the bus’s railing, leading authorities to suspect foul play.
According to police reports, the bus, operated by Arsh Travel, was stopped for inspection near the Chandwa check post. During the search, officials found the cash, comprised of ₹500, ₹200, and ₹100 denominations. The exact source and ownership of the money remain undetermined as of now. Authorities have launched an investigation to uncover more details.
The seizure has raised concerns, especially as enhanced security measures have been implemented across the region due to the upcoming assembly elections.
