Ranchi, December 22, 2024: On the 169th Foundation Day of Santhal Pargana, Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Ravindra Nath Mahato extended heartfelt greetings to the people of the state. Formation of Santhal Paragana: A Historic Milestone

Santhal Pargana was established as a separate district on December 22, 1855, following the historic Hul Movement led by the valiant martyrs Sidhu and Kanhu Murmu. This armed struggle, lasting nearly six months, culminated in the declaration of a vast expanse of land from Bhagalpur and Birbhum districts as Santhal Pargana.

Tribute to Sidhu and Kanhu Murmu

Speaker Ravindra Nath Mahato paid homage to Sidhu and Kanhu Murmu, the leaders of the Hul Movement, acknowledging their pivotal role in the formation of Santhal Pargana.
