Kujju, Ramgarh, January 09, 2025: A significant burglary was reported at the residence of Arvind Singh Bagga, the president of the Kujju Gurudwara Committee, late Tuesday night. The thieves broke into the house while the family was attending a procession for Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti. Jewelry worth ₹5 lakh and ₹29,000 in cash were stolen during the incident.
Family Away for Religious Procession
According to reports, the family left their residence in the Kujju OP area to participate in the Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti Shobha Yatra. The event, which is an annual religious procession, saw widespread participation from the Sikh community.
The burglary occurred while the house was unoccupied. Upon returning home around 11 PM, the family discovered the main door’s lock broken and the house ransacked.
Details of the Stolen Items
The burglars made away with valuables estimated at ₹5 lakh, including gold and silver jewelry, as well as ₹29,000 in cash. Preliminary assessments suggest the thieves targeted easily accessible items of high value.
Arvind Singh Bagga, speaking about the incident, stated, “We were shocked to see the state of our home. All valuables were taken, and the house was left in complete disarray.”
Police Investigation Underway
The incident was immediately reported to the Kujju OP Police, who visited the scene to collect evidence. The authorities have launched an investigation and are currently examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify potential suspects.
A senior police official from Kujju OP commented, “We are prioritizing this case and have deployed teams to gather clues. The modus operandi suggests it was a planned burglary, possibly involving multiple individuals.”
