Latehar News: Latehar Murder Mystery Unraveled, Two Suspects Arrested by Police

Latehar, November 17, 2024: The Latehar police have made significant progress in solving a woman’s murder case by arresting two suspects and sending them to jail. In a press conference held on Sunday, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Arvind Kumar provided detailed insights into the investigation and the subsequent arrests.

Discovery of the Incident

On the night of November 13, a report was received by Om Prakash Paswan, the local chowkidar, that smoke and the odor of burning were emanating from a house near the Navodaya Vidyalaya in the Sadar police station area. Acting swiftly, Sub-Inspector Ranjan Kumar Paswan and Assistant Sub-Inspector Chintu Kumar were dispatched to the scene. With the assistance of the fire brigade, they managed to extinguish the flames inside the house.

Uncovering the Crime

Upon investigation, the authorities discovered the partially burned body of a woman inside the premises. The deceased was later identified as Salima Tigga, a local resident known in the neighborhood. The discovery of the body set off a meticulous inquiry into the circumstances surrounding her death.

SDPO Arvind Kumar explained that the investigation revealed crucial evidence pointing to the involvement of two individuals. The police gathered witness statements, forensic samples and reviewed CCTV footage from the surrounding areas.
