Ranchi, September 05, 2026: The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has sealed the PW Vidyapeeth coaching centre at Pranami Heights in Lalpur after an inspection found that the institute was operating from a basement in violation of approved building-use and building bylaw provisions.
The action was taken on Saturday, September 5, as part of the civic body’s ongoing inspection drive focusing on the safety of students and compliance with building-related standards at coaching centres and other educational facilities.
According to the civic body, the institute had previously been served a notice but failed to rectify the identified deficiencies. Following the latest inspection, the municipal team proceeded with the sealing.
Two more coaching institutes inspected
The RMC team also inspected BioM Institute and Brothers Academy in Hinoo during the drive.
The two institutes sought additional time to submit documents requested by the civic authorities. Their operators said they have the required documents and will submit them to the corporation shortly.
RMC warns of further action
The civic body said coaching centres will be required to comply with norms relating to trade licences, fire NOCs, ventilation, adequate space, entry and exit routes and student capacity.
The corporation has warned that coaching institutes and libraries found violating applicable rules could face strict action, including sealing.
The inspection drive is being conducted with student safety and compliance with building regulations as key considerations.
