Ramgarh Elephant Rescue in Parasadiha Jungle
Forest department officials confirmed that both the elephant and its calf are alive. A rescue operation is currently in progress with the help of JCB machines and other equipment. Authorities on-site stated that every possible effort is being made to safely lift the elephants out of the well without causing them any injury.
Villagers Blame Unsafe Open Wells
Local residents expressed concern over the presence of unsecured open wells in the forest area. They pointed out that many of these wells are covered with dense vegetation, making them hard to notice, and thus pose a major threat to wildlife. Villagers urged the forest department and administration to secure all such wells located near the forest boundaries to prevent similar accidents in the future.
Increased Elephant Movement in Gola Forest Area
According to forest officials, elephant activity has been on the rise in the Gola forest region in recent weeks. Just a few days ago, three calves were born in a herd of elephants in the Hensapoda jungle. At present, around 42 elephants are reported to be moving through this stretch of forest, leading to frequent encounters near villages and forested zones.
