Bokaro, January 4, 2025: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted a significant raid in Bokaro today, with eight specialized teams carrying out coordinated searches in various police station areas of the Naxal-affected Gomia region. The operation is part of the NIA’s ongoing efforts to investigate and curb Naxal activities in Jharkhand.
NIA Raid Targets Naxal Networks in Gomia Region
The NIA’s raid focused on areas that have long been identified as hotspots for Naxal insurgency, including Jumra Pahar, Chatro Chati, Rajderwa, Lodhi, Cheyatand and Hardiyomo village. These regions are notorious for their connection to Naxal organizations, which have been involved in violent activities aimed at destabilizing the region. The NIA teams are actively gathering crucial evidence related to Naxal activities and links to underground organizations operating in the area.
Bokaro SP Confirms NIA Operation
Bokaro’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Manoj Swargiary, confirmed the NIA’s presence in the district, stating that the raid was initiated based on critical intelligence gathered about Naxal activities. In his statement, the SP highlighted that the NIA’s investigation is focused on identifying individuals and groups with ties to Naxal organizations. The operation is expected to yield significant findings that will aid in dismantling Naxal networks in the region.
“The NIA’s operation in Bokaro is a direct result of actionable intelligence related to Naxal activities. The raid is aimed at identifying key figures and gathering evidence that will help in strengthening our fight against insurgency in Jharkhand,” said SP Manoj Swargiary.
NIA Teams Focus on Strategic Locations
The NIA teams are concentrating their efforts on high-priority areas that have witnessed Naxal-related incidents in the past. These include Jumra Hill and Chatro Chatti, which have been identified as major strongholds for Naxal forces. The ongoing searches are expected to uncover more evidence that will support the investigation into the Naxal presence in these areas.
Strong Support from State Authorities
The NIA’s operation has been supported by the state’s top law enforcement officials. Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Gupta and Inspector General (IG) Amol Venukant Homkar have authorized the NIA and local police to take decisive action against Naxal groups. The state authorities have granted full support to the NIA’s investigation, emphasizing their commitment to eliminating the Naxal threat in Jharkhand.
This coordinated effort underscores the state’s determination to address the persistent issue of Naxal insurgency and ensure the safety of its citizens.
Ongoing Investigation
As the NIA continues its investigation in the Gomia Naxal region, authorities remain vigilant and are closely monitoring developments. The raid is seen as a significant step in dismantling the Naxal network in Jharkhand, with the NIA working in collaboration with local police to gather evidence and make arrests.
The operation in Bokaro is part of a broader initiative to combat Naxal activities across the state and strengthen law enforcement’s ability to deal with insurgent groups.
The NIA’s ongoing investigation and the Bokaro SP’s confirmation of the raid reflect the seriousness with which the authorities are tackling Naxal activities in Jharkhand. As the situation develops, more updates are expected to follow.
