Ranchi, January 15, 2025: Jharkhand is set to witness a major infrastructure boost as Chief Minister Hemant Soren has approved the construction of four high-speed corridors. With a total length of 1,060 kilometers and an estimated cost of ₹31,379 crore, these corridors aim to improve connectivity across the state’s key locations, including districts, cities, tourist spots and religious sites.
The Road Construction Department has finalized the alignment of the corridors, with detailed project reports (DPRs) being prepared for various sections. Technical approvals for several segments have already been granted, marking significant progress toward the realization of this ambitious project.
Project Overview: High-Speed Corridors
The initiative comprises four high-speed corridors, each designed to enhance accessibility and reduce travel time. Below are the details of the proposed corridors:
- Jharkhand East-West Corridor:
- Length: 335 km
- Route: Muri-Semra, Chatra, Barhi, Bengabad, Sarath, Dumka
- Jharkhand Eastern Corridor:
- Length: 332 km
- Route: Jhumri Tilaiya, Antkidi, Bishnugarh, Gola, Muri, Chaibasa
- Jharkhand North-South Corridor:
- Length: 286.4 km
- Route: Sahibganj, Barhait, Amrapara, Dumka, Jamtara, Nirsa, Chas, Dhanbad
- Jharkhand Central Corridor:
- Length: 107.13 km
- Route: Ranchi, Thakurgaon, Burmu, Tandwa, Simaria, Bagra More

For instance, the Jharkhand East-West Corridor’s alignment from Koderma via Jhumri Tilaiya and Antkidi has been finalized, with DPRs for three sections currently in progress.
