Lohardaga, January 07, 205: A 40-year-old man, identified as Rajeev Kumar Gupta, was found dead in a room at Lohardaga Lodge on New Road in Lohardaga’s urban area. What raises suspicions is that his name was not entered in the lodge’s register. The deceased was a resident of Rana Chowk, Dhobi Mohalla Road and the son of Ram Prasad Gupta.

Police Investigation Reveals Missing Register Entry

According to the police, Rajeev Kumar Gupta had checked into the lodge for a 24-hour stay. However, his entry was not recorded in the lodge’s official register. Upon inquiry, it was revealed that Rajeev was an acquaintance of the lodge staff, which is why the standard procedure of registration was overlooked. Sources also stated that Rajeev was a frequent visitor to the lodge.

The situation came to light on Tuesday morning when Rajeev failed to open his room door. Concerned staff broke open the door, only to find him lifeless inside the room. Initial identification confirmed the deceased as Rajeev Kumar Gupta, a resident of Rana Chowk, Dhobi Mohalla Road.
