Hazaribagh, August 18, 2026 A group of women associated with the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS) in Hazaribagh has accused Block Programme Manager (BPM) Rajkumar of allegedly misbehaving with them and creating unnecessary hurdles in their work.

Women from three JSLPS clusters reached the block headquarters and met Block Development Officer (BDO) Haroon Rashid to submit their complaint. They demanded Rajkumar’s transfer and sought an inquiry into the allegations.

Women allege inappropriate remarks

The women alleged that Rajkumar used objectionable and insulting language while speaking to them. They specifically attributed a remark to him in which he allegedly told them to “take a bowl and beg” and bathe in hot water.

The women said the alleged remarks had hurt them and staged a protest at the block headquarters, raising slogans and seeking action against the BPM.

They further alleged that Rajkumar had repeatedly interfered with their work and caused them difficulties in carrying out their responsibilities.

The women said they would not submit reports at the block headquarters until the BPM was transferred. They also called for an impartial investigation into the matter.

BPM denies allegations

Rajkumar rejected the allegations and said they were false.

According to him, he had only instructed the women to follow prescribed rules while carrying out their work. He alleged that his insistence on compliance and efforts to prevent irregularities had led to opposition from some women members.

He said irregularities would not be tolerated during his tenure and maintained that the allegations against him were being made because of his efforts to enforce rules.

BDO tasked with inquiry

Given the competing claims, a district-level inquiry has been ordered into the matter, with BDO Haroon Rashid assigned responsibility for the investigation.

The BDO is examining the allegations and obtaining information from the parties involved. Officials expect the inquiry report to be submitted to the district level within one or two days.

The findings of the inquiry are expected to determine the facts of the dispute and whether any further action is warranted.
