Giridih, November 17, 2024: In his election campaign speech, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren addressed rallies in Giridih, Gandey and Jamua on November 17, 2024, confidently asserting that the ruling alliance will win once again and form the government. At the rally in Jamua, CM Hemant Soren made a pointed remark about the BJP’s external leaders, stating that they would be impossible to find post-election, even with a flashlight.
“After the elections, the BJP’s outsider leaders won’t be seen anywhere. They will disappear quickly from Jharkhand and no matter how hard you look for them, you won’t find them,” Soren stated emphatically. His comment aimed to stress the transient nature of the BJP’s influence in the state.
Hemant Soren contrasted the BJP’s leadership with the people of Jharkhand, focusing on marginalized communities, such as the poor, tribals, Dalits, backward classes and minorities. “On one side, we have the poor and downtrodden and on the other side, there are the capitalists of the BJP. Their eyes are set on Jharkhand’s mineral wealth, which they want to hand over to their business friends,” he said. The Chief Minister emphasized that BJP leaders from other states were hovering around Jharkhand like vultures, seeking to exploit the state’s resources for personal gain.
CM Hemant Soren’s Election Confidence:
Hemant Soren also expressed confidence in his alliance’s victory, stating that the ruling coalition would win in various constituencies, including Barkatha and Jamua. He remarked that the “Abua Raj” (our government) has been working for the people of Jharkhand, striving to alleviate economic burdens and fight against exploitative practices such as the Mahajani system. He referred to the historic struggle led by Dishom Guruji against Mahajani practices, linking it to the current government’s efforts to lift the economic weight from the people.
The Chief Minister also voiced his concern over the manipulation of constitutional institutions by the central government. He accused these institutions of functioning like puppets in the hands of the BJP, but reiterated that despite these challenges, the support from Jharkhand’s people remains strong for the “Abua Raj.”
BJP’s Resource Exploitation Agenda
Hemant Soren’s attack on the BJP was direct and unequivocal. He claimed that the BJP’s goal was to transfer Jharkhand’s valuable mineral resources to big corporate entities aligned with the party. “The BJP leaders want to ensure that their business associates benefit from the state’s rich mineral wealth,” he said.
He further criticized the central government for undermining state sovereignty and the rights of the people of Jharkhand. Soren assured the crowd that the current government was committed to the welfare of the people and would continue to stand strong against external exploitation and interference.
Community and Electoral Impact
CM Hemant Soren’s statements resonated deeply with the audience in Jamua, a region known for its strong grassroots support. The crowd expressed their firm backing for the Chief Minister, with many voicing their discontent with the BJP’s interference in state matters.
Soren’s call for unity and strength was clear: “When you, the people, remain empowered, our Jharkhand will be strong,” he emphasized. The Chief Minister reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the struggles of Jharkhand’s citizens were met with positive action and that the resources of the state would remain under local control.
While the Chief Minister’s words struck a chord with the local community, they also served as a reminder of the ongoing political tensions in the state as elections draw near. The rhetoric about BJP’s external influence and their alleged resource exploitation continues to shape the discourse in Jharkhand’s election season.
On the Ground in Jamua
The rally in Jamua, which was attended by thousands, was one of the largest in the ongoing election campaign. Local residents expressed their concerns about the economic situation, particularly the rising influence of outside political forces. For them, CM Hemant Soren’s words were a source of reassurance, signaling a determination to keep Jharkhand’s future in the hands of its people.
The state’s election season has been characterized by intense political exchanges, with parties making bold claims about their respective visions for Jharkhand’s future. CM Hemant Soren’s strong words against the BJP leadership signify the high stakes in this battle for power.
