Ranchi, December 21, 2024: Ajay Nath Jha, Commissioner of Tribal Welfare, emphasized the importance of ensuring high-quality facilities and support for students in residential schools during his recent inspection of welfare initiatives in Ranchi and Bundu. His directives aim to enhance the quality of education, hygiene and infrastructure for students from Scheduled Tribes (ST), Scheduled Castes (SC) and Other Backward Classes (OBC).
Inspection of Residential Schools and Hostels
Ajay Nath Jha inspected the under-construction hostel for backward class girls at a residential school in Ranchi. He directed that the construction must be completed by August 15, 2025, to provide students with a safe and comfortable living environment.
“Students leave their homes to pursue quality education in residential schools. It is our responsibility to ensure they face no difficulties,” said Jha.
Training Programs at Bundu Welfare Gurukul
At Bundu, Jha visited the Welfare Gurukul operated by Prejha Foundation, where women trainees are being equipped with skills for self-reliance. He praised the institute’s discipline, cleanliness, and training programs, calling it a model for other welfare initiatives.
Construction Deadlines and Safety Measures
Ajay Nath Jha emphasized the importance of meeting construction deadlines for hostels and ensuring safety measures for female students. He directed the deployment of female home guards during the construction phase to ensure security.
Achievements and Recognition
During his visit, Ajay Nath Jha congratulated the Birsa Munda DAV Residential School for its achievements in national sports competitions, where students secured gold and silver medals. “Their success is a testament to the potential of our students when provided with the right environment and support,” he remarked.
Ministerial Support and Field Visits
The Welfare Minister, Chamra Linda, has instructed officials, including the Commissioner and regional authorities, to conduct field visits every Friday and Saturday. These visits aim to monitor welfare schemes and ensure their effective implementation.
Ajay Nath Jha’s inspections are part of a broader initiative to enhance the quality of education and living conditions for students in tribal and backward-class welfare schools.
