Security forces have intensified operations in Kolhan and Saranda, the stronghold of the CPI-Maoist’s Eastern Regional Bureau (ERB). Over the last three years, 9,631 operations have been carried out in the region, leading to the arrest of 175 Maoists and the recovery of large quantities of explosives, weapons, and other equipment.
Police records also indicate that 10 Maoists have been neutralized in encounters during this period. Several new security camps have been set up across vulnerable areas, increasing the sense of safety among villagers while reducing Maoist influence.
26 Maoists Surrendered in Chaibasa in Three Years
With the latest surrender, the number of Maoists who have joined the mainstream in Chaibasa alone has reached 26 in the last three years.
