Latehar, November 04, 2024: In a tragic incident early Monday morning, Bandhu Oraon, the deputy head (Up Mukhiya) of Bendi Panchayat, was killed after being struck by a freight train. Authorities discovered Oraon’s body on the railway tracks near the Lughfichhi village, situated between Latehar and Bendi railway stations.
The driver of the freight train reported the incident to the Latehar railway management, prompting an immediate police response. Officers arrived at the scene, where they recovered Oraon’s remains and subsequently sent them for post-mortem examination.
Local police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event. Preliminary reports indicate that the accident occurred in the down line area, but officials are still working to gather more information regarding the moments leading up to the incident.
