Ranchi, August 31, 2026: Admission to 250 MBBS seats at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) has begun for the new academic session, with students being enrolled according to a category-wise schedule.
Of the total 250 seats, 208 are under the Jharkhand state quota. The admission process for these seats has been staggered across different categories, with enrolment scheduled to conclude on September 3.
On August 31, RIMS is conducting admission for 104 students from the General and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories.
The schedule will continue with reserved-category students over the next three days:
- September 1: 54 students from the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category
- September 2: 29 students from BC-I and BC-II categories
- September 3: 21 students from the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Divyang categories
Together, these category-wise admissions account for all 208 state quota seats.
The increase in the number of MBBS seats has expanded the availability of undergraduate medical education at a government medical college for students in Jharkhand.
RIMS management is completing document verification and other admission formalities as part of the scheduled enrolment process.
