Khunti, September 05, 2026: Teachers’ Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at Dharam Dayal Inter College, Saridkel, on Saturday, with students taking the lead in organising the programme and presenting cultural performances for their teachers.

The programme began with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp, followed by floral and garland tributes to former President and noted educationist Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birth anniversary is observed as Teachers’ Day.

Students of Classes 11 and 12 took responsibility for conducting the event. They presented a range of cultural programmes for the teachers, creating a festive atmosphere on the college campus.

The celebrations also included a cake-cutting ceremony, with students and teachers sharing the occasion together.

Teachers urged to prepare students for future challenges

Addressing the gathering, college director Dharam Dayal Sahu said teachers should continuously encourage students to improve and perform better.

He said the success of students is one of the most important measures of a teacher’s contribution, adding that educators also have the responsibility of preparing children to face the challenges of the future.

Principal Gloria Mundri stressed the need to make students more aware of the importance of education and provide them with proper guidance.

She said quality education can help children move towards success, while the guidance of a teacher can play an important role in shaping a student’s life.
