Chaibasa, September 05, 2026: Members of the Footpath Vendor Shopkeepers Association Welfare Trust came together for a blood donation drive at the blood bank of Chaibasa Sadar Hospital on Saturday, donating 25 units of blood.
The initiative brought together vendors associated with the organisation for a community service activity aimed at helping patients who may require blood during emergencies.
Social worker Trishanu Rai, who attended the camp as the chief guest, presented certificates to the blood donors and encouraged them for their contribution.
‘Blood donation can save a life’
Rai said donating blood is more than an act of assistance as it can help save the life of a person in a medical emergency.
He encouraged healthy citizens to donate blood periodically so that patients do not face critical situations because of a shortage of blood.
Rai also appreciated the Welfare Trust’s leadership and members for organising the camp, saying that combining livelihood with social responsibility sets a positive example for the wider community.
Trust members and blood bank team support camp
The camp was supported by Trust president Vikas Kumar, vice-president Manoj Gupta, Ajay Jha, Lalan Khan, Ajay Gupta, treasurer Ganesh Singh, and members Ashish Karmakar and Rahul Poddar.
The team from the Sadar Hospital blood bank also played an active role in conducting the donation drive.
The organisers said the initiative was aimed at supporting the availability of blood for patients in need.
