Jamshedpur, September 18, 2025: A special program under the campaign “Healthy Women, Empowered Family” was organized at the Community Health Center (CHC) in Chakulia on Wednesday. The initiative, launched to spread awareness about women’s health and family welfare, witnessed active participation from women across the region along with health officials, ASHA workers, and local representatives.
The campaign aims to improve healthcare access for women in rural areas while highlighting the role of women’s health in building stronger families and communities.
Chakulia CHC Hosts Health Awareness Program
The event, held at Chakulia CHC, brought together healthcare experts and field-level workers who addressed various aspects of women’s health, maternal care, and nutrition. Medical professionals emphasized the need for regular health check-ups, awareness about reproductive health, and preventive measures against common diseases.
Women attending the program were briefed on government health schemes, safe motherhood practices, and the importance of hygiene. The focus was also placed on reducing maternal and infant mortality rates by promoting institutional deliveries and timely medical interventions.
Women Empowerment Linked With Healthy Families
Officials highlighted that the campaign “Healthy Women, Empowered Family” is not just about health awareness but also about social empowerment. Healthy women are seen as the foundation of a strong family unit, contributing directly to the well-being of children and the economic stability of households.
The initiative seeks to educate women about their rights to healthcare services, encouraging them to seek timely medical assistance and adopt healthy lifestyles.
Role of ASHA Workers and Health Department
ASHA workers, who form the backbone of rural healthcare delivery, played a key role in mobilizing women for the program. They explained how women in villages can avail themselves of health facilities provided by the government, including antenatal check-ups, vaccination drives, and nutritional support programs.
The District Health Department reiterated its commitment to reaching remote areas with health services and awareness drives, ensuring that women in rural Jharkhand do not remain deprived of basic healthcare.
Participation of Women in Jamshedpur Rural
The campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation from women of Chakulia and nearby villages. Many attendees shared their concerns about health challenges in rural areas, including lack of awareness, taboos around reproductive health, and limited access to medical facilities.
By addressing these issues, the campaign aims to bring lasting changes in rural health practices.
Government’s Focus on Women’s Health in Jharkhand
This campaign aligns with state and central government initiatives to improve maternal and child healthcare in Jharkhand. With rising cases of malnutrition and anemia among rural women, such awareness programs play a crucial role in spreading knowledge and encouraging preventive healthcare.
Officials at the event assured that more programs will be organized in different blocks of Jamshedpur Rural, focusing on maternal health, nutrition, family planning, and community participation.
