Dhanbad News: Man Shot Dead in Dhanbad, Police Probe Homicide Near Kanchan Talkies

Dhanbad, December 12, 2024: A chilling murder has gripped the Barwadda area of Dhanbad district in Jharkhand, where a young man was shot dead. His body was found near Kanchan Talkies, on the road leading to Bara Pichari, causing panic among local residents. The incident has sparked a wave of concern about rising crime in the region.

Unidentified Body Found Near Kanchan Talkies

The body was discovered by locals early Wednesday morning, who promptly informed the Barwadda police. Officers led by Sub-Inspector Ajay Kumar arrived at the scene and recovered the body. Preliminary investigations revealed the victim was approximately 40 years old and had been shot twice. Shell casings were also retrieved from the site.

Despite efforts, the identity of the deceased remains unknown. Local residents have been unable to recognize the victim, adding complexity to the investigation.

Police Confirm Homicide, Initiate Probe

Sub-Inspector Ajay Kumar confirmed that the victim died from gunshot wounds, marking the case as a clear homicide. The police have begun their inquiry by informing neighboring police stations and gathering intelligence to identify the deceased.

“The initial investigation indicates this was a targeted killing. We have recovered two bullet casings from the scene and efforts to trace the suspects are underway,” said Kumar.

Dhanbad Police Intensify Investigation

Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shankar Kamati stated that this appears to be a premeditated crime. “The manner of the shooting and the evidence recovered suggest a calculated act,” Kamati remarked.

The police are also examining CCTV footage from nearby areas and have called for forensic analysis to support the investigation.
