Giridih, October 25, 2024: In a significant crackdown on cattle trafficking, the Giridih police seized a truck loaded with cattle under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sumit Prasad. The operation took place near the Charka Tongri area, where authorities intercepted the vehicle transporting the animals illegally.
Giridih Police Take Action Against Cattle Trafficking
The operation unfolded when local police received intelligence regarding the illicit transportation of cattle from Bihar to West Bengal. Upon stopping the truck, officers found it carrying eight cows, two calves and ten buffaloes. The driver, identified as Lallu Sahu from Bhojpur, Bihar and his assistant, Guddu Yadav, were arrested on the spot.

According to SDPO Sumit Prasad, the cattle were en route to a destination believed to be linked to illegal smuggling operations. After ensuring the safety of the animals, the police transported them to Madhuban Gaushala, where they will be cared for until further arrangements can be made.
