Godda, Jharkhand, October 29: The nomination process for Jharkhand’s upcoming assembly elections saw a significant turnout on Monday as multiple candidates filed their papers across the three key constituencies of Godda, Mahagama and Poraiyahat. A total of 19 candidates submitted nominations in Godda district, with nine from Godda Assembly seat, four from Mahagama and six from Poraiyahat, including prominent Congress leader Pradeep Yadav.
Godda Constituency Sees Nine Candidates
Nine candidates registered for the Godda Assembly seat, marking it as one of the most contested areas in the district. Among those filing were candidates from prominent political factions, as well as independents aiming to impact the local political landscape.
Notable names include Sanjay Prasad Yadav from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Raju Kumar of SUCI and Noor Hasan from Samta Party. Representing the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshiram) is Ranjeet Kumar and from the People’s Party of India (Democratic) is Balram Paswan.
Additionally, independent candidates Pritam Singh, Hemkant Thakur, Prakhar Kumar and Arvind Ramdas completed their submissions, adding a mix of perspectives to the election race in Godda.
Mahagama Assembly Seat Draws Four Nominees
In Mahagama, four candidates entered the race for the Assembly seat, each representing different political visions and ideologies. Ashok Kumar from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Mohammed Kamran Khan of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) were among the high-profile names submitting their nominations. Additionally, independent candidates Krishna Mohan Chaubey and Mohammed Haroon Rasheed filed papers, rounding out the field of nominees vying to secure the Mahagama seat.
Poraiyahat Welcomes Six Candidates, Including Congress’ Pradeep Yadav
The Poraiyahat constituency saw six candidates submit nominations, among them Pradeep Yadav from Congress, one of the most recognized figures in the area’s political arena. Yadav, who holds substantial influence, is expected to play a significant role in shaping the constituency’s election landscape.
Competing against him are Devendra Nath Singh from the BJP and Sanjay Yadav representing the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Additional candidates include Jaiprakash Das from the Lokhit Adhikar Party, along with independents Thakur Vikram Singh and Mukesh Tudu.
