Hazaribagh, September 2, 2026: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested draftsman Krishna Singh from the Settlement Office premises in Hazaribagh while executing a non-bailable arrest warrant issued by a court.
The arrest was made in connection with Hazaribagh ACB case No. 02/18. ACB Hazaribagh Superintendent of Police Asif Ikram confirmed that the warrant issued by the court was executed during the operation.
Singh, son of Prayag Singh, had been wanted by the ACB for some time following the issuance of the warrant.
ACB team traced Singh to Settlement Office
The ACB team initially went to Krishna Singh’s residence on Wednesday to execute the arrest warrant. However, he was not found at home.
The team continued its search and subsequently received information that Singh was present at the Hazaribagh Settlement Office. ACB personnel reached the office and found him on the premises, where he was arrested.
Chargesheet already filed in the case
According to ACB officials, the investigation in the case had already been completed and a chargesheet had been filed before the court.
Following the chargesheet, the court issued a non-bailable warrant for Singh’s arrest. The ACB had been making efforts to execute the warrant, eventually locating and arresting him at the Settlement Office on Wednesday.
The arrest is part of the legal proceedings in the case and does not by itself establish guilt.
Singh to be produced before court
After his arrest, Krishna Singh is to be produced before the court by the ACB team. Further custody arrangements will be decided through the judicial process.
The ACB’s action has also drawn attention in government offices in Hazaribagh, with the latest arrest highlighting the agency’s continuing enforcement of court-issued warrants in corruption-related cases.
