Ranchi, September 2, 2026: The electoral contest for the Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) session 2026-27 has taken shape after scrutiny of nominations, with two applications rejected and 84 candidates now remaining in the race.
The chamber received a record 86 nominations, making this year’s election one of the most heavily contested in its electoral history.
Of the total nominations, 77 were filed for the Executive Committee and nine for the post of Regional Vice-President.
Two nominations rejected during scrutiny
The scrutiny was conducted at 4 pm on Tuesday, following which the nominations of Monika Agrawal and Shaurya Khandelwal, both contesting for the Executive Committee, were rejected.
The election committee said their nominations were cancelled because their names were not listed as representatives in the chamber’s official membership records.
With these two nominations removed, the total number of candidates in the election has come down from 86 to 84.
Campaigning gains momentum in Ranchi
With the scrutiny process completed, candidates have begun intensifying their outreach among chamber members.
A team led by presidential candidate Tulsi Patel conducted a campaign in the Upper Bazaar area of Ranchi. Team members met traders in Transport Nagar, Churuwala Chowk and East Market Road, seeking support for their candidature.
Patel said the confidence of traders was the team’s biggest strength and said the group was committed to working with all members to further strengthen the chamber.
The completion of scrutiny now clears the way for the remaining candidates to focus on their campaigns ahead of the FJCCI 2026-27 election.
