Ranchi, September 2, 2026: Jharkhand Director General of Police (DGP) will chair a high-level review meeting on September 9 to assess the state’s law-and-order situation, legal action taken during recent student protests and pending administrative matters within the police department.

The meeting is scheduled for 3 pm and will be conducted through video conferencing from the police headquarters auditorium in Ranchi. All zonal IGs, range DIGs and district-level SSPs and SPs have been directed to participate.

The meeting will bring together senior police officials to review the status of several operational and administrative issues across the state.

Legal action during student protests under review

One of the key agenda items will be a detailed review of the legal and procedural action taken by districts during protests organised by various student organisations in recent days.

Officials will present details of the action taken in their respective districts as part of the review.

The meeting will also assess the progress of the QR scanning system being implemented to strengthen beat policing and examine how the system is being implemented across the state.

Pending ACP and MACP cases to be reviewed

The police headquarters has also included pending ACP and MACP cases of police officers and personnel in the agenda.

The status of pending matters related to police station malkhanas, including cases involving the handing over of charge, will also be reviewed.

Another issue listed for discussion is the early disposal of pending matters related to Last Pay Certificates (LPCs).

Districts directed to prepare PPT presentations

The police headquarters has instructed officials from all concerned ranges and districts to prepare PowerPoint presentations covering relevant data and progress reports.

During the meeting, officers will be required to present the status of their respective districts through these presentations.

The review is intended to provide the police headquarters with an updated assessment of law-and-order issues, action taken during recent protests and the progress of internal administrative reforms across Jharkhand.
