Hazaribagh, October 03, 2025: A special Gram Sabha was organized in Hazaribagh under the Government of India’s ambitious Aadi Karmyogi Abhiyan, focusing on the holistic development of 105 tribal-dominated villages. The meeting was attended by senior officials including Namita Kaushik from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and Deputy Development Commissioner Ishtiaq Ahmed, along with several other administrative officers.
During the program, officials visited villages to understand local challenges and drafted village-specific development plans, which were passed in the Gram Sabha. The initiative is part of a larger mission to empower tribal communities and strengthen grassroots governance in Jharkhand.
Tribal Empowerment Through Aadi Karmyogi Abhiyan
The Aadi Karmyogi Abhiyan aims to empower tribal communities by ensuring their active participation in governance and development. At the special Gram Sabha held on October 2, Deputy Development Commissioner Ishtiaq Ahmed stated that the target is to transform tribal-majority villages by 2030.
Each of the 105 selected villages in Hazaribagh will have a customized action plan addressing local needs such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, livelihoods, and cultural preservation. The initiative also seeks to ensure that tribal voices are directly integrated into planning and policy execution.
Formation of Cadre of 20 Lakh Tribal Karmyogis
Under the program, a cadre of more than 20 lakh tribal Karmyogis will be developed across the country. These individuals will work at the grassroots level while safeguarding their language, culture, and identity.
Villagers themselves will prepare Village Action Plans (VAPs), supported by newly formed groups such as Aadishakti Groups and Aadi Sahayog Groups, which will also include government functionaries. This model is designed to bring collective decision-making and accountability into rural development.
Aadi Seva Kendras and Weekly Meetings
As part of the implementation process, Aadi Seva Kendras will be established in rural areas. These centers will host weekly meetings between villagers and government officials. The Village Action Plans generated through these discussions will be uploaded on the central government portal, forming the basis for the rollout of welfare schemes and infrastructure projects.
The campaign primarily targets villages where more than 50 percent of the population belongs to tribal communities, ensuring focused development in areas with the greatest need.
National Mission Under Janjati Gaurav Varsh
The Aadi Karmyogi Abhiyan was launched on July 10, 2025, as part of Janjati Gaurav Varsh. It seeks to extend government services to the remotest tribal regions across 550 districts and over one lakh tribal villages in India.
The initiative marks a significant step towards inclusive growth, tribal empowerment, and cultural preservation, aligning with the national vision of sustainable rural development and equitable governance.
