Notorious Gangster Arrested in Hazaribagh Linked to Murder, Extortion, and Kidnapping

Hazaribagh, October 6, 2025: Hazaribagh police have arrested the notorious criminal Mohammad Danish Iqbal, wanted for multiple heinous crimes across Jharkhand and Bihar. Iqbal, associated with Uttam Yadav and the Psycho Tiger gang, has been implicated in murder, robbery, extortion, kidnapping, and shooting incidents.

Arrest Details Near Nagwa Toll Plaza

According to Hazaribagh Superintendent of Police Anjani Anjan, Danish Iqbal was apprehended near Nagwa Toll Plaza on Sunday night. Police recovered fake identity documents, mobile phones, and SIM cards from him. During interrogation, Iqbal reportedly admitted his involvement in murders, robberies, extortion cases, and bomb attacks.

Criminal Background and Gang Activities

Iqbal, a resident of Sherghati, Gaya district, Bihar, has been active with gang leaders Uttam Yadav, Shakti Giri alias Psycho Tiger, and Photo Khan across multiple districts in Jharkhand and Bihar. Police reports confirm he was involved in at least five major criminal cases.

The SP explained that police received a tip-off about Iqbal’s presence near Nagwa Toll Plaza. Acting on the intelligence, Lohsinghna police station personnel were deployed late Sunday night. When officers approached near Nagwa Airport, Iqbal attempted to flee but was apprehended by armed police personnel.

Gang Operations and Criminal Acts

Danish Iqbal disclosed that the gang, comprising 15-20 members from Jharkhand and Bihar, systematically targets traders, businessmen, and companies for extortion. Police confirmed his involvement in multiple high-profile crimes, including the murder of Uday Saw in Hazaribagh in December 2024 and the Anwar Ali murder case in Gaya district.

Additionally, the accused admitted to violent activities at the Bharat Mala Project camp in Gurua police station area, including attacks on laborers and planning a bomb attack on Dr. Tapeshwar Prasad’s clinic earlier this year.

Authorities continue investigations into Danish Iqbal’s network and are tracking other gang members across Jharkhand and Bihar.
