Ranchi, September 23, 2025: Several districts in Jharkhand are experiencing intermittent heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours, providing relief from the sweltering heat. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), similar weather conditions are expected across the state until September 26, 2025.
IMD Issues Thunderstorm and Heavy Rain Alert in Jharkhand
The IMD has issued alerts for several districts, warning residents of heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms. Districts under alert include East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Saraikela-Kharsawan, Simdega, and Ranchi, among others. The weather department has also forecasted strong winds reaching speeds of 30–40 km/h during this period. Citizens are advised to stay indoors and exercise caution.
Continuous Rainfall in Ranchi and Kolhan Division
The capital city, Ranchi, witnessed sudden heavy rainfall after Monday afternoon, with weather conditions changing rapidly. The Kolhan division districts have also been receiving continuous showers since Monday afternoon. In Saraikela, heavy rain persisted for over two hours. On Tuesday morning, rainfall continued in many areas, contributing to a drop in temperatures across the state.
Jharkhand Temperature Update Amid Rainfall
The ongoing rainfall has caused a decline in Jharkhand’s temperatures over the past 24 hours, with the maximum temperature dropping by 3°C. However, forecasts indicate a slight rise of 2°C over the next 24 hours. Today, Jharkhand’s maximum temperature is expected to be 26°C, while the minimum may hover around 23°C.

Residents are advised to remain updated on weather warnings, avoid outdoor travel during thunderstorms, and follow safety protocols issued by the IMD and local authorities.
