Jharkhand News: Chief Minister Hemant Soren Visits Deoghar with Wife Kalpana Soren, Offers Prayers at Baba Baidyanath Temple for Jharkhand’s Welfare

Deoghar, December 13, 2024: Chief Minister Hemant Soren, accompanied by his wife Kalpana Soren, visited the revered Baba Baidyanath Dham temple in Deoghar on Friday. This marked an important spiritual occasion for the Chief Minister as he performed rituals seeking the welfare and prosperity of the people of Jharkhand.

Traditional Rituals at Baba Baidyanath Temple

Upon arrival, the Chief Minister and his wife were welcomed by their family priest, a Jharkhand-based Panda, who conducted the rituals with Vedic chants and traditional customs. The couple performed the Kamna Linga puja, an auspicious ritual at the temple. The prayers were conducted following the Shodashopachara method, a 16-step ritualistic process.

Apart from offering prayers at Baba Baidyanath temple, Hemant Soren and Kalpana Soren also visited the adjoining temples dedicated to Goddess Parvati and other deities, seeking blessings for the holistic development of Jharkhand.

Leaders Accompanying the Chief Minister

The visit saw the presence of prominent leaders from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress. Among them were JMM leaders Ajay Narayan Mishra, Suraj Mishra and Prakash Naroune, as well as Congress leader Ravindra Mishra, popularly known as Daddoo. Members of the Panda Dharmarakshini Sabha, including General Secretary Nirmal Jha, Arunand Jha, Chandrashekhar Khawade, and Sanjay Mishra, were also present during the rituals.

Deoghar Deputy Commissioner Vishal Sagar ensured smooth coordination for the Chief Minister’s visit, reflecting the administrative preparedness for such high-profile events.

Arrival at Deoghar Airport and Warm Welcome

Chief Minister Hemant Soren arrived at Deoghar via a special flight from Ranchi. Upon landing at Deoghar Airport, the Chief Minister and his entourage were greeted enthusiastically by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leaders and supporters. The grand reception highlighted the strong connection between the Chief Minister and the local population.

Visit to Basukinath Temple

After completing the rituals at Baba Baidyanath temple, the Chief Minister and his family proceeded to Basukinath Temple, another significant spiritual site in Jharkhand. This visit further underlined the importance of the day for the Soren family as they sought divine blessings for the state’s progress and prosperity.

Baba Baidyanath Dham, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India, holds immense religious significance for Hindus. It is a major pilgrimage destination, attracting devotees from across the country, especially during the holy month of Shravan.
