Jharkhnad News: CID Arrests Youth in Deoghar for Online Trading Fraud Using CANTILLON App

Deoghar, September 26, 2025: The Jharkhand Police Crime Investigation Department (CID) has successfully dismantled a significant online trading fraud racket, arresting a 19-year-old youth for deceiving investors through a fake trading application. The apprehended accused, Yashvardhan Kumar, a native of Gayaji, Bihar, was residing in Deoghar at the time of arrest.

Fake Trading App ‘CANTILLON’ Used to Dupe Investors

According to CID officials, the scam operated primarily via the WhatsApp platform, where victims were lured with promises of high profits. The fraudsters encouraged individuals to invest in the fake trading app CANTILLON, providing false returns and prompting victims to deposit additional funds.

Once victims attempted to withdraw their investments, the app was deactivated, leaving investors with significant financial losses.

Evidence Seized During Deoghar Arrest

Following the arrest, the CID team seized critical evidence and digital devices from Yashvardhan Kumar, which are expected to assist in tracing the full scope of the online fraud operation. The case highlights the rising trend of cybercrime and online investment scams targeting unsuspecting individuals in Jharkhand and neighboring states.
