Ranchi, October 27, 2027: The viral video incident involving Congress MLA Irfan Ansari has taken a new turn as Vijay Kumar Dubey, acting district president of Jamtara, lodged a complaint against BJP candidate Sita Soren. The complaint, filed at the Jamtara police station, accuses Sita Soren of misrepresenting Ansari’s statements in the viral video, suggesting a deliberate attempt to tarnish his image for political advantage.
Allegations of Defamation and Misrepresentation
According to the complaint, the viral video allegedly manipulated the statements of MLA Irfan Ansari, who represents the Congress party, to create a misleading narrative. Vijay Kumar Dubey has claimed that the video was intentionally edited, distorting Ansari’s comments to damage his political standing. The Congress party’s stance is that this was a strategic move by Sita Soren to benefit in the upcoming elections.
“The video has been edited and tampered with. This is a clear attempt to defame Irfan Ansari and mislead the public for political gains,” stated Dubey, calling for legal action against Sita Soren.
BJP’s Sita Soren Responds
Reacting to the accusations, BJP candidate Sita Soren, who is contesting from Jamtara, has denied any wrongdoing. In a strong statement, she defended her stance, asserting that Irfan Ansari is capable of handling his own responses and does not need external explanations. Sita Soren has further warned that she would initiate legal proceedings against those responsible for trying to frame her in this controversy.
“Irfan Ansari is no chil, he can speak for himself. The accusations against me are baseless, and I will not hesitate to take legal action if necessary,” said Sita Soren.
FIR Filed Against Irfan Ansari
The controversy around the video does not end here. An FIR has been registered against Irfan Ansari himself under Case No. 208/24, citing violations of the Model Code of Conduct. The complaint suggests that Ansari made controversial remarks against Sita Soren, which led to the allegations of misconduct.
The case has drawn widespread attention, particularly in Jamtara, where political tensions are high ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. Both sides are bracing for a legal battle, intensifying the political drama in the district.
National Commission for Scheduled Tribes Seeks Report
Amid the escalating controversy, the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) has stepped in, demanding a detailed report on the incident. The commission has instructed key state authorities, including the Chief Secretary, DGP, Home Secretary and Jamtara SP and DC to investigate the matter and submit a report within three days.
The NCST has also warned that failure to comply with this directive could result in the issuance of summons, requiring the officials to appear before the commission either personally or through a representative. This development underscores the seriousness of the situation, as the commission seeks to address the concerns raised by both parties.
Political Implications and Election Tensions
The viral video incident has quickly turned into a significant political issue in Jamtara, with both Congress and BJP aiming to defend their reputations. As the Assembly elections draw closer, such controversies could influence public opinion and voter sentiment, making the outcome even more unpredictable.
The case has also raised concerns about the use of social media and viral content as tools in political campaigns. With the NCST stepping in, the matter is now under strict observation, adding another layer of complexity to an already heated election atmosphere.
The situation remains fluid and further developments are expected as both legal and political dimensions continue to unfold.
