Ranchi, December 16, 2024: Addressing concerns over the safety of young girls in the city, City Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajkumar Mehta emphasized that the police are fully committed to ensuring a secure environment for students. Speaking at a press conference on Monday following an incident of harassment involving students of Ranchi Kanya Pathshala, the City SP assured strict action against offenders.

Police Commitment to Girls’ Safety in Ranchi Schools and Colleges

City SP Rajkumar Mehta reassured students and parents that Ranchi Police is dedicated to the safety of all girls in the city. He announced that women police personnel would be deployed across schools and colleges to provide a sense of security. Repeat Offender to Face Strict Punishment

The accused, Firoz Ali, who has a prior record of similar offenses, has been apprehended. City SP Rajkumar Mehta stated that the police would ensure the harshest possible legal action against him. To deter such incidents in the future, Ali was publicly paraded on Main Road, demonstrating the police’s zero-tolerance policy toward harassment.

Emergency Measures for Immediate Assistance

To strengthen public trust and enhance accessibility, senior police officers’ contact numbers will be displayed prominently on walls in public areas. This measure aims to enable immediate communication with authorities during emergencies. The City SP also encouraged students and citizens to report any suspicious activity without hesitation.
