Ranchi, November 14, 2024: A petition regarding the Maiya Samman Yojana, filed in the Jharkhand High Court, will be heard today. The petition was filed by Vishnu Sahu, who sought a stay on the scheme, alleging it was politically motivated and aimed at influencing voters ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. In a social media post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Chief Minister Hemant Soren commented, “Today, the hearing will take place on the petition that seeks to stop the Maiya Samman Yojana. Your ‘Abua Government’ is fighting this case with full force. The state’s top lawyer, the Advocate General, will raise his voice for the rights of every Maiya in the state.” He further stated, “We will fight, we will win, but Jharkhandis will never surrender.”

The Maiya Samman Yojana, which provides a financial benefit to women in the state, has been the center of political controversy.
