Trailer Overturns in Koderma Valley, Driver Killed on the Spot

Koderma, October 5, 2025: A tragic road accident occurred late Saturday night in Koderma Valley, Jharkhand, when a trailer carrying construction rods overturned near Jamsoti Nala on the Ranchi–Patna National Highway. The driver died at the scene after being trapped inside the cabin.

Victim Identified as Bihar Resident

The deceased has been identified as Rakesh Mahato (30), son of Bughan Mahato, a resident of Mohdinnagar in Samastipur district, Bihar. According to reports, the trailer was transporting rod-laden cargo from Bokaro to Patna at the time of the incident.

How the Koderma Trailer Accident Happened

The accident took place around 10 p.m. when the trailer, while negotiating a sharp turn near Jamsoti Nala in the Koderma Valley, lost control and overturned by the roadside. The heavy vehicle slipped off balance, leaving the driver trapped inside the cabin. He succumbed to his injuries before help could arrive.

Police and Rescue Operation in Koderma Valley Road Accident

Following the accident, a PCR van from Koderma police station reached the spot. Police personnel, with considerable effort, managed to extract the driver from the severely damaged cabin and rushed him to Sadar Hospital, Koderma. Doctors declared him dead on arrival. The body was later sent for post-mortem examination.

Family Members Reach Koderma After Fatal Accident

Upon receiving the news, the driver’s family members from Samastipur reached Koderma. Police confirmed that further formalities are being completed, and the family has been informed about the next steps regarding the deceased.
