SAF Soldier Found Dead Near Mahua Dand, Murder Investigation Underway

Latehar, October 28, 2024: An SAF soldier, identified as Yeshu Sahay Kidro, was found dead in a suspected road accident late Sunday night near Mahua Dand, a location bordering the districts of Latehar and Gumla. The incident took place along the Kuru-Nawatoli road, where locals discovered the body in a nearby bush and promptly informed the authorities. Police later confirmed that the deceased was a resident of Bishrampur in Parhatoli Panchayat.

Details of the Incident and Initial Findings

According to police reports, Kidro, who was currently stationed at the SAF Headquarters in Ranchi, was en route to his hometown Bishrampur to visit his wife. Local witnesses reported finding a TVS motorcycle (registration number JH-07-G 9981) near the scene, suggesting the possibility of a road accident. However, discrepancies in the circumstances surrounding the incident have led authorities to suspect foul play.

The Mahua Dand Police, under the supervision of Station Officer Avneesh Kumar, have taken custody of the body and arranged for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. “The initial assessment suggests the possibility of murder, and we are conducting a thorough investigation into all potential leads,” Kumar stated.
