Palamu Central Jail Gears Up for Chhath Vrat Celebrations

Palamu, November 06, 2024: In a unique religious observance, six inmates at Palamu Central Jail will be observing the Chhath Vrat this year, with one of them being a female prisoner. The event, which is set to take place within the jail premises, is being meticulously planned by the jail administration to ensure a smooth and secure celebration.

Special Arrangements for Chhath Puja Observance at Palamu Jail

According to Jail Superintendent Bhagirath Karji, the administration has made significant preparations to facilitate the Chhath Vrat. These include extensive cleanliness drives within the jail and the construction of an artificial pond where the inmates will perform the evening and morning arghya rituals. The administration has also arranged for separate water provisions for the religious activities.

Women Prisoners Support Festival Preparations

Other women prisoners have volunteered to assist with the festival preparations, contributing by participating in traditional songs and helping organize the rituals. The jail authorities are ensuring that the inmates observing the vrat are provided with fresh clothes and all necessary materials for the puja.

Enhanced Security and Religious Support for Inmates

In addition to the religious arrangements, the administration has focused on enhancing security to ensure the event takes place without any disruptions. The jail management has emphasized that all facilities required for the safe observance of Chhath Puja will be made available to the inmates.
