Ranchi, September 04, 2026: Improving response readiness during critical situations was the focus of a firing practice session organised for Ranchi police personnel at the JAP-1 Ground in Bariatu on September 4.
The exercise, conducted on the directions of Ranchi Senior Superintendent of Police Rakesh Ranjan, brought together personnel deployed with Tiger Mobile units, police station in-charges and other concerned police officers from across the district.
Rather than being limited to marksmanship, the session focused on maintaining operational preparedness through regular weapons training. Police personnel practised firing with small arms while being trained to follow safety procedures, handle weapons correctly and improve shooting accuracy.
Regular training aimed at improving field response
According to the SSP, continued practice is intended to strengthen the force’s confidence and weapon-handling skills while keeping personnel prepared to respond effectively when faced with challenging situations.
The training is also aimed at improving the operational capabilities of police teams involved in maintaining law and order and responding to crime-related incidents.
The police leadership emphasised that such regular exercises can help personnel react more efficiently during emergencies and strengthen overall preparedness for public-safety duties.
