Saraikela-Kharsawan, September 18, 2025: In a major initiative, the Saraikela-Kharsawan police successfully recovered 109 stolen and missing mobile phones and handed them back to their rightful owners. The special drive, conducted under the directives of the Superintendent of Police, has brought relief to many residents.
The recovered phones, valued at approximately ₹22 lakh, were returned during a program organized at the Town Hall, Saraikela, where the Superintendent of Police personally handed over the devices to their owners.
Police Operation and Tracking via CEIR Portal
According to officials, the recovery was made possible through a combination of complaints filed at various police stations, data from the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, and technical support from the district’s cyber wing.

The Superintendent of Police urged citizens to report stolen or missing phones immediately at the nearest police station and also register the complaint on the CEIR portal. Authorities highlighted that the CEIR system is simple and effective in tracking lost mobile devices, making recovery operations faster and more efficient.
