Ramgarh, August 29, 2026: Ramgarh Deputy Commissioner Rituraj directed officials to take strict measures to improve road safety, ease traffic congestion and remove encroachments from roads during a district-level road safety committee meeting on Saturday.
The meeting was held in the district Collectorate conference hall under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, with Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Lunayat in attendance.
Officials reviewed, point by point, the action taken on decisions from the committee’s previous meeting and discussed measures aimed at reducing road accidents and improving traffic management across the district.
Focus on accident prevention in Chutupalu Valley
The committee reviewed measures being taken to reduce accidents in Chutupalu Valley, a key focus of the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner directed officials to check whether the lights currently installed in the valley are functioning regularly. He also called for an increase in the number of road safety signboards and discussions on measures to control vehicle speeds.
Officials were directed to take steps to curb overspeeding, install high-mast lights, ensure CCTV cameras remain functional and identify black spots where corrective measures are needed to reduce accidents.
Pending hit-and-run cases to be cleared quickly
The meeting also reviewed pending cases related to hit-and-run accidents and the compensation process available under the scheme.
Deputy Commissioner Rituraj directed District Transport Officer Rajesh Ekka to ensure that all pending hit-and-run cases are disposed of at the earliest so that affected families can receive relief and compensation on time.
He also directed officials to conduct intensive vehicle-checking drives at various locations to help prevent road accidents and curb illegal transportation.
Roads to be cleared of encroachments
To address traffic congestion in urban areas, the Deputy Commissioner directed officials to take action to make roads encroachment-free.
The move is aimed at improving traffic flow and reducing inconvenience to commuters and other members of the public.
Strict action against helmet violations
The committee also focused on compliance with basic road safety rules.
Officials were directed to take strict action and issue challans against two-wheeler riders travelling without helmets.
The meeting also called for the “No Helmet, No Petrol” campaign to continue strictly at all petrol pumps across the district.
Senior district officials and representatives of various departments concerned with road safety and traffic management attended the meeting.
