Ranchi, September 05, 2026: With H1N1 cases being reported in Ranchi, Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) has strengthened its arrangements for patient isolation, treatment and infection control.
The hospital has prepared a six-bed isolation ward in its dengue ward for suspected and infected H1N1 patients. The facility will allow such patients to be treated separately from others while their health condition is monitored closely.
RIMS management said separating suspected or infected patients is aimed at reducing the possibility of infection spreading within the hospital and making continuous monitoring of patients easier.
Patients with flu-like symptoms advised to remain alert
H1N1 infection can cause symptoms including fever, cough, sore throat, headache, body aches and severe fatigue. Breathing difficulty can indicate a more serious condition.
Children, elderly people and those with existing illnesses need to take particular precautions, according to the advisory cited by the hospital.
People have been advised to wear masks, maintain hand hygiene and cover their mouth and nose while coughing or sneezing.
Anyone experiencing high fever along with breathing difficulty, chest pain or severe weakness should seek medical attention without delay.
