Ranchi, September 05, 2026: Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar on Saturday highlighted the role of teachers in shaping the next generation and contributing to nation-building as he marked Teachers’ Day by paying tribute to former President and Bharat Ratna Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
At a programme held at Lok Bhavan, the Governor offered floral tribute to Dr Radhakrishnan’s portrait on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
Gangwar said Dr Radhakrishnan’s contribution to the fields of education and philosophy remains invaluable. According to the Governor, his ideas and life philosophy continue to inspire society to uphold knowledge, values and human principles.
Teachers shape values beyond the classroom
The Governor said the contribution of teachers extends beyond imparting academic knowledge.
He said teachers help students develop values, discipline and a sense of responsibility, thereby playing an important role in preparing young people to contribute meaningfully to society.
On Teachers’ Day, Gangwar extended his greetings and best wishes to teachers whose work contributes to the development of the country and society.
He also called for drawing inspiration from Dr Radhakrishnan’s ideals and using education to build a society that is more aware, sensitive and guided by values.
