Hazaribagh, September 05, 2026: Road repair work has begun across parts of Hazaribagh after heavy rain left several stretches damaged and riddled with large potholes, creating difficulties for commuters and motorists.
The immediate repair drive was initiated following the intervention of Hazaribagh MLA Pradeep Prasad, with potholes being filled on Nawabganj Road, Imli Kothi Road and adjoining stretches.
BJP workers also joined the work at the sites, contributing through voluntary labour to fill potholes and make the roads safer and more usable for traffic.
MLA says safe movement a priority
Pradeep Prasad said providing residents with safe and convenient roads remains a priority. He said discussions are continuing with officials of the concerned departments regarding roads damaged during the monsoon.
According to the MLA, stretches requiring immediate attention are being taken up on a priority basis for pothole filling and essential repairs, while longer-term repair and reconstruction work is being pursued in coordination with the relevant departments.
Damaged roads to be identified in phases
Prasad said roads in both urban and rural areas would be identified in phases and taken up for repair.
He said road-related complaints should not remain confined to official meetings and that residents should report damaged stretches to their elected representatives and the concerned authorities so that necessary action can be initiated.
The MLA said improving Hazaribagh’s roads is directly linked to the safety and convenience of residents, and further repair work on other damaged stretches is expected to follow.
BJP district president Vivekanand Singh, senior party leaders, mandal presidents, MLA representatives, party workers and other local representatives were present during the repair work.
