Ranchi, September 6, 2026: Medical screening requirements for pilgrims selected from Jharkhand for Haj 2027 have been revised, with each pilgrim now required to undergo health checks at two stages, once after selection and again shortly before departure for the pilgrimage.

Under the new process, the first medical examination must be completed at a government Sadar Hospital or by a designated government doctor. Pilgrims will then have to upload their medical fitness certificate and fee payment receipt on the portal by September 15.

Those unable to upload the documents online can submit them directly at the office of the Jharkhand State Haj Committee.

Original medical reports must be preserved

Pilgrims have been advised to keep all their original medical reports safely, as these documents will be required during the second round of medical screening and vaccination.

The authorities have also cautioned pilgrims against withholding information about any existing illness or providing incorrect details during the medical examination.

According to the guidelines, concealing a medical condition or submitting false information could result in cancellation of the pilgrim’s selection. The amount already deposited may also be forfeited, and legal action could follow.

1,769 pilgrims selected from Jharkhand

A total of 1,769 pilgrims from Jharkhand are scheduled to undertake Haj in 2027.

The Haj Committee has appealed to all selected pilgrims to complete their first medical examination and submit the required documents within the prescribed deadline to avoid complications with their selection.

The second medical screening and vaccination process will be conducted before the pilgrims leave for the Haj pilgrimage.
