Ranchi, September 07, 2026: The BJP is set to launch a four-day statewide agitation from September 8 over alleged irregularities in the JPSC and JSSC CGL examinations and its demand for withdrawal of cases registered against protesting students.

As part of the campaign, BJP workers will stage demonstrations and gherao programmes at the offices of Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police in all 24 district headquarters between September 8 and 11.

The move follows the party’s ultimatum to the Hemant Soren government seeking a CBI investigation into the alleged examination irregularities, strict action against those found responsible and withdrawal of cases against students involved in the protests.

Senior BJP leaders assigned to different districts

According to BJP state general secretary Amar Kumar Bauri, senior party leaders will participate in the statewide campaign.

State president Aditya Sahu will lead programmes in Ranchi, Seraikela and Khunti, while Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi will lead the campaign in Dumka, Pakur, Sahibganj and Godda.

Former chief ministers Raghubar Das and Madhu Koda have also been assigned to lead protest programmes in major urban and industrial centres, including Hazaribagh, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur and Bokaro.

Four-day protest schedule

The BJP has divided the district-level demonstrations across four days.

September 8: Ranchi, Dumka, Hazaribagh, Giridih, Jamshedpur and Garhwa.

September 9: Koderma, Sahibganj, Bokaro, Palamu, Simdega and Chaibasa.

September 10: Seraikela, Pakur, Dhanbad, Gumla, Latehar and Chatra.

September 11: Ramgarh, Deoghar, Lohardaga, Khunti, Godda and Jamtara.

The party has appointed district coordinators to oversee the programmes and ensure coordination at each location.

The BJP has said the agitation will continue until its demands concerning the examination controversy and cases against students are addressed.
