Chandil, September 07, 2026: Traffic movement on the Tata-Ranchi NH-33 came under severe pressure on Monday after a vehicle broke down on a one-way stretch, leaving motorists stuck in a long queue between Chilgu and Shaherbeda in Chandil police station area.
The affected stretch is narrow because traffic has been restricted to one-way movement. With vehicles continuing to arrive from both directions, the breakdown quickly created congestion extending for several kilometres.
Vehicles were reportedly moving slowly and intermittently, causing considerable inconvenience to commuters travelling between Tata and Ranchi.
The disruption was particularly difficult for motorists caught within the congested stretch, where limited road space made it difficult for traffic to pass smoothly.
Efforts were underway to remove the disabled vehicle from the road and restore normal traffic movement. Full clearance of the route is expected once the vehicle is removed and the flow of traffic is regulated.
Motorists travelling on the Tata-Ranchi route were facing delays as the congestion continued.
