Pakur, September 18, 2025: : Despite restrictions on the movement of heavy vehicles during no-entry hours, residents of Pakur city staged a road blockade on Tuesday morning to protest against violations. The demonstration took place near Hatpada Indira Chowk, starting around 7 a.m., after repeated complaints went unaddressed.
Heavy Vehicles Defy No-Entry Rules in Pakur
Residents alleged that trucks and dumpers continue to move freely between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. and again from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., despite the no-entry ban during these hours. Locals accused vehicle drivers of moving at high speed and engaging in reckless practices, putting the lives of pedestrians and schoolchildren at risk.
Public Safety Concerns Over Speeding Dumpers and Trucks
According to locals, several instances have been reported where dumpers and heavy trucks passed dangerously close to schoolchildren, raising the threat of road accidents. Residents claimed that the administration has failed to enforce restrictions, leading to frequent violations and mounting frustration among the public.
Road Blockade Creates Long Traffic Jams in Pakur
As the situation escalated, protesters blocked the main road, causing long queues of vehicles in different parts of the city. Traffic movement came to a halt for several hours until the police arrived at the spot.
Police Intervention Ends the Protest
Upon receiving information, Pakur police reached the site and persuaded the residents to lift the blockade. The authorities assured the public that steps would be taken to regulate the movement of heavy vehicles and ensure strict enforcement of the no-entry rules.
