Bokaro, November 06, 2024: The postal ballot voting process for polling staff and security personnel in Bokaro began on Tuesday, ahead of the second phase of the upcoming assembly elections, scheduled for November 20. The process is essential to ensure that election staff and security forces are able to cast their votes before they are deployed for election duty.
Three designated voting centers have been set up in the city to facilitate this process. These include the Police Line in Sector 12, Middle School BMP in Sector 12 and the Joint Labor Building. On the second day of the postal ballot voting, from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, a total of 1,115 polling staff and security personnel exercised their voting rights.
The votes were cast across four constituencies, with the following breakdown: 155 votes from Gomia, 196 votes from Bermo, 591 votes from Bokaro and 173 votes from Chandankiyari. The voting process is expected to continue until all eligible personnel have cast their votes.
This initiative is part of the efforts to ensure a smooth and efficient election process, as polling staff and security forces are vital for maintaining order during the elections. The postal ballot system allows them to participate in the democratic process despite their election duties.
With the assembly elections approaching, these early votes are crucial for setting the stage for a fair and secure election in Bokaro and surrounding areas.
