Giridih News: Branded Company Liquor and Cattle-Laden Vehicle Seized by Police, Two Arrested

Giridih, Jharkhand, October 27, 2024: In a significant police operation, law enforcement officials seized a vehicle loaded with branded liquor and another vehicle transporting cattle in Giridih on Wednesday. This operation resulted in the arrest of two individuals suspected of involvement in illegal activities.

Police Seizures in Giridih

Under the direction of SDPO Dhananjay Ram, the Giridih police acted on confidential information regarding a vehicle suspected of carrying contraband. The police conducted a swift operation and intercepted the vehicle near Bagodar.

Upon inspection, authorities discovered 30 crates of branded liquor, valued at approximately ₹1.5 lakh, concealed within the vehicle. The driver, Shubham Gupta, a resident of Bokaro was arrested during the operation and is currently being interrogated for further details regarding the source and distribution of the seized liquor.

Cattle Transport Interception

Simultaneously, a second operation led by the same team resulted in the seizure of a cattle-laden vehicle. This vehicle was found transporting 10 cows destined for the illegal meat trade, heading towards Bengal.

The police intercepted the vehicle on the bypass road near Sariya in Bagodar. The driver, identified as Akhilesh Sahu, hailing from Ara, Bihar was also taken into custody.

Investigation and Legal Actions

Both arrests and the subsequent seizures highlight the ongoing efforts of Giridih police to combat illegal trade in the region. Authorities are now examining the connections between the seized liquor and cattle transport to ascertain whether there are broader networks involved in these illicit activities.

The police have registered cases against the arrested individuals and are expected to pursue further legal actions based on the evidence gathered during the operations.
