Ranchi, November 06, 2024: As the city gears up for the grand Chhath Mahaparv, which will be celebrated on November 7 and 8, Ranchi Traffic Police have made significant alterations to the traffic routes to ensure smooth travel for devotees. The festival, marked by large numbers of devotees offering prayers to the Sun God at ponds and rivers, is expected to see increased traffic congestion across the city. These changes aim to ease the flow of traffic and ensure safety during the festive period.

No Entry for Heavy Vehicles During Chhath Puja 2024

From November 7, 8:00 AM to November 8, 8:00 AM, the entry of heavy vehicles and freight carriers into the city will be strictly prohibited. According to Traffic SP Kailash Karmali’s directive, all such vehicles are instructed to follow the Ring Road route to reach their destinations during these hours. This move is part of the measures to reduce congestion and ensure smoother flow for emergency and festival-related traffic.

Strict Surveillance at Major Ghats

Given the influx of devotees heading to the ghats, the traffic police will be deploying personnel at over 25 strategic locations across Ranchi. Police officers will also be stationed at major ponds and dams to regulate and control traffic during the festival. This will help in maintaining order and ensuring that devotees can safely access the ghats for their rituals.
