BJP Demands Action Against DSP Satyendra Narayan Singh

Ranchi, October 26, 2024: A BJP delegation, led by Sudhir Srivastava, met with Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar at the State Election Commission office on Saturday. The delegation submitted a formal request for the removal of Garhwa DSP Satyendra Narayan Singh from election duties, citing concerns over his conduct. Satyendra Narayan Singh currently serves as the Sub-Divisional Police Officer in Shri Banshidhar Nagar.

Allegations of Bias Against BJP Workers

According to Sudhir Srivastava, DSP Satyendra Narayan Singh has been involved in activities that undermine his role as a law enforcement officer. Srivastava highlighted that Singh held the position of Inspector in Garhwa during the 2014 elections and has allegedly exhibited similar behavior at that time. He accused Singh of targeting BJP workers and supporters, filing cases against them with apparent bias, and intimidating them.

Concerns Over Election Fairness

The delegation claimed that the actions of DSP Satyendra Narayan Singh are politically motivated, suggesting that his presence in Shri Banshidhar Nagar aims to disrupt BJP activities during the elections. To support their allegations, the BJP representatives provided documents detailing cases filed against their members, which they assert were orchestrated under Singh’s direction.

Demand for Immediate Removal

The BJP delegation urged the Election Commission to take immediate action, asserting that DSP Satyendra Narayan Singh’s continued presence could influence the election environment. They requested his removal to ensure impartiality in the upcoming elections. The delegation also emphasized the need for fair election practices, free from any form of intimidation or targeted actions against political workers.

Election Commission Orders Investigation

In response to the BJP’s concerns, the Election Commission has ordered an investigation into the matter. The delegation included Pushkar Tiwari and other BJP members who expressed hope that the investigation would ensure fairness and accountability within the election process.
