Ranchi, September 30, 2025: The Jharkhand government has constituted a five-member Group of Ministers (GoM) to review and recommend measures for the conservation and development of Saranda Wildlife Sanctuary, one of Asia’s largest Sal forests. The GoM will be headed by Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore.
Jharkhand Forms Ministerial Panel for Saranda Wildlife Sanctuary
The panel was formed following a decision taken at the Cabinet meeting on September 24. Its primary objective is to ensure ecological preservation of the Saranda forest while safeguarding the interests of the tribal communities residing in the region.

Government Departments to Support the Saranda Panel
The Forest, Environment, and Scheduled Tribes, Minorities, and Backward Classes Welfare Departments will assist the GoM in its activities. Additionally, the respective Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) will coordinate arrangements related to accommodation, transport, and security for the ministerial team during field visits.
